Chanel Fort, PhD

Stillman College

Chanel L. Fort is the Director of Academic Innovation at Stillman College and an Education Research Assistant at Pepperdine University. Chanel’s 21-year contributions to education and workforce development systems are informed by her research and expertise in global education equity, assessment, and policy evaluation. She is concerned about the social, political, and public health issues in education, learner engagement, and teacher development.

Throughout her career, Chanel has explored learner equity and student achievement through the lens of mastery learning, liberation education, and critical pedagogy. Chanel is passionate about social change through education and action research and is an organizational learning design and evaluation expert.

The Education Design Lab’s Designers in Residence program is an 11-month opportunity for leaders to collaborate with the Lab in co-creating the future role of colleges in their communities.

The 2021 cohort will bring together a design team of 12 visionary thinkers and doers from postsecondary institutions to evolve and strengthen the role of colleges to be regional change agents to close economic and racial opportunity gaps.
