Emily serves as the People Operations Manager for the Lab, where she leads the planning and execution of all meetings and events across the Lab’s various projects and initiatives. In addition, she organizes the day-to-day operations of this growing nonprofit organization.
Prior to joining the Education Design Lab team, she served as the Event Manager for McChrystal Group, a management consulting firm that focuses on individual and team performance for organizations of all sizes and industries, from boutique to Fortune 500 entities. While there, Emily oversaw all the event planning and deliverables for over 75 meetings and events annually, implemented the use of mobile event apps, and played a key role in successfully pivoting to virtual events at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also volunteered as Gala Coordinator for the nonprofit Young Professionals in Foreign Policy’s annual black-tie gala and fundraiser, bringing together over 350 of the organization’s members and raising 133% of the total revenue goal each year.
Emily is passionate about taking care of the little details, breathing life into events by ensuring they are purpose-driven, and produced with a look, feel, and voice reflective of the brand. She strives to support the Lab’s mission with these principles in mind and create memorable and impactful experiences for all involved. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Findlay, where she was also a four-year varsity member of the nationally-ranked IHSA Equestrian Team. A lifelong avid equestrian, she spends her free time with her husband and her horse, Cricket.
