Matthew Aranda

Associate Education Designer

Matthew is an Associate Education Designer who supports the Lab’s micro-credentialing work, specifically supporting development on 21st Century Skills Badges and vsbl, the Lab’s new learning platform for top skills. In addition, he supports the micro-credentialing team by helping to manage and develop institutional and strategic partnerships. He works with these partners to collect data on the use and impact of vsbl, while maintaining the platform and connecting users to their learning.

Matthew has been in dynamic roles within education in both formal and informal settings. In his time at the Whittier College Career Center, he oversaw student staff for operational and marketing initiatives. There, he pioneered the team mechanics of the student staff, as well as the social manners in which the Career Center engages with the campus. At Galileo Summer Camp in Culver City, CA he taught outdoor games, led extended care, and led instruction on escape room design. 

Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Whittier College. He is also versed and informed by his experiences in high school speech and debate, as well as his time performing improv throughout undergrad—place him in front of any crowd! Matthew aspires to become a Chief Learning Officer in order to lead innovative learning for all.
